We are two families united by a deep and lasting friendship that, in the warm and surreal summer of 2020, decide to embark on a new adventure together. In a period marked by uncertainty and restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we seek refuge away from the chaos and crowds, a place where we can breathe fresh air and rediscover the pleasure of being together.
So, we decide to spend the summer holidays in the picturesque Valle d’Itria, in the wonderful region of Puglia.
This enchanted place, with its breathtaking landscapes and relaxed atmosphere, seemed to be the perfect destination for a rejuvenating break.
Fate led us to a charming trullo, an ancient conical construction, symbolizing the architectural tradition of the region. Initially drawn to the rustic beauty and history surrounding this place, we certainly did not expect that this vacation would become much more than just a summer getaway. Captivated by the magic and simplicity of these unique dwellings, we made a bold decision: to purchase a trullo of our own and turn it into a recurring gathering place for our families and friends.
That trullo would not only be a summer residence but a tangible symbol of our friendship.
So, after much research and meetings with locals, we found the perfect trullo, nestled among olive groves and surrounded by a rejuvenating silence that exuded an atmosphere of peace and serenity. The signing of the contract marked the beginning of a new adventure for us. Together, we worked to renovate and furnish the trullo, turning it into a cozy summer home where we could spend precious moments together.
That summer, while the world was grappling with an unprecedented crisis, we found comfort and joy in a special place. And thus, our love for the Valle d’Itria and our trullo became an unbreakable bond, a treasure to cherish and pass down to future generations.
